Fontaine 4-4-0
Fontaine 4-4-0

History

The Fontaine was a 4-4-0 steam engine built by the Grant Locomotive Works around 1881 and designed by Eugene Fontaine of Detroit

Although a certainly different engine design the Fontaine concept was devoid of any redeeming or useful features.

Two engines were builts but neither exist today.

The design became known as Fontaine's Folly. There are no plans to produce this engine.
