Returns and Refund Policy

All our factory built locomotives come with a years warranty from point of purchase for the first owner. This warranty covers significant defects in material and workmanship. On return of a completed warranty card, as supplied with new locomotives, the warranty is extended to two years.

On models fitted with radio control equipment these electronic components are only covered by a one year guarantee and are excluded from the warranty extension.

All Roundhouse Engineering Co Ltd locomotives are fully tested before leaving the factory. If you do not receive your locomotive in good working order, or should a fault develop within the terms set out within this policy, you should contact immediately either the dealer from which it was purchased or ourselves directly. Please be prepared to quote the loco serial number when getting in touch.

If you are asked to return the model ensure the packaging and insurance is adequate. You may be asked to include proof of purchase along with a cover letter describing the issue.

To qualify for this guarantee, the model must have been used according to, and within the guidelines set out in the operating instructions.

Exclusions apply to warranty where:

  • The fault has been caused or is attributable to accident, accidental use, foreign objects, misuse, misapplication, negligent use or use contrary to the supplied operating instructions.
  • Persons other than Roundhouse Engineering Co Ltd have attempted repairs or modifications
  • The product has been used for trade, professional or hire purposes
  • This guarantee does not confer any rights other than those expressly set out in this document and does not cover any claims for consequential loss or damage. This guarantee is offered as an additional benefit and does not affect your statutory rights as a cusumer.

Goods returned due to poor workmanship or faulty components, and do not fall under the exclusions above, will be repaired where possible or replaced with new where not. A refund will be offered where repair or replacement is not possible.
